Description:
This terrific cane sports a metal handle with the insignia of the 101st Airborne division of the U.S. Army, nicknamed the Screaming Eagles. The hefty handle measures 2 inches x 2-1/8 inches in diameter over an ebonized hardwood shaft and 2-1/2 inch long hardwood tip. Overall length of this cane is 36 inches. The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) is an airborne division of the United States Army primarily trained for air assault operations using the helicopter. During the Vietnam War, the 101st was redesignated an airmobile division and later as an air assault division. Many modern members of the 101st are graduates of the U.S. Army Air Assault School and wear the Air Assault Badge, but it is not a prerequisite to be assigned to the division. The division is headquartered at Fort Campbell, Kentucky on the Tennessee state line and is currently serving in Iraq.
