Description:
A beautiful English desk set dating to around 1850, this is one of my favourite types of inkstands in exotic Rosewood with an intricate turned handle with brass supports attaching to the base.
There are two lids that open revealing the interior, one side with a pen tray and the other side with two lidded inkwells, both in wonderful condition. Between the inkwells is a lidded compartment which would be used for spare nibs for one's dip pen and other small items, perhaps sealing wax and a seal.
There is a drawer underneath, for the storage of stationery, stamps etc.
For accuracy I will mention a couple of minor imperfections; a small chip to the handle, perfectly stable and insignificant and a professional repair to one lid, again mentioned purely for accuracy. Excellent condition measuring 10" x 6" x 4 3/4' high to top of handle.
Worldwide insured airmail included.
