Description:
This delightful Victorian mirror depicts the legendary "Man in the Moon". There is a cherub pulling or leading the man. Check out the detailing. The castings are superb! You can see the hairs of the man's thick eyebrows, full mustache and flowing beard. The frame is a heavy white metal finished to look like bronze. This original finish is in excellent condition. The round moon shape is the original beveled mirror. There is obvious silvering loss on the back. The mirror can be easily replaced, but we prefer the way it is. The mirror easily comes out of the frame. The mirror has its heavy-duty support that extends from the back so it can rest on a dresser or table. What a wonderful whimsical piece of Victoriana.
