Description:
This Victorian mahogany loo table was hand-crafted in England around 1890. This table was designed for the game of loo, a six-handed card game popular in the 19th C. It has a round top with a snap catch and a hinge fitted to a tripod base, so the table top can be tilted for easy storage, when not in use. This table was crafted out of the mahogany and has developed a beautiful patina over the past 100+ years. The top has a scalloped apron and is supported by parallel lopers. There are solid-brass pins which allow you the option of removing the top, if needed. The turned column, carved tripod base and porcelain casters are lovely additions to this piece. There is a bit of crackling on the apron and a few minor scratches to the top. Overall, the condition is very good. This elegant mahogany table was crafted as a gaming table but it would also makes a lovely coffee table. This table is very versatile and would certainly make a fine addition to any home. Don't miss your chance to own this fine piece of English craftsmanship today!
