Description: Early Victorian walnutlap desk made about 1890. The lap desk measures 8 by 11.5 inches when closed and 11.5 by 16 inches when in the open position. The slanted writing surface is covered in the original fabric. The desk has a pen storage box and two larger storage areas for paper and documents. The walnut exterior is in excellent condition for the age with a gilded stork on the top lid. A great piece of Victorian americana.
