Description:
Known as ‘Victorian Lady’ this fabulous pink satin Depression glass figural powder jar is shown and described on pgs 30-31 of Whitmyer - Bedroom & Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years. The lid features a figural of the torso of a lovely girl wearing a fancy hooped skirt, she has a bonnet on her head, hands folded at her waist, a basket hangs from one arm, a parasol from the other. Garlands of flowers and bows encircle the bottom edge of the skirt above a row of ruffling. The bottom is embossed with a trellis-like design and is marked 'DERMAY, INC. 5TH.AVE. N.Y. 972'. She is outstanding and beautifully executed with fine definition to her features and ornate apparel. Produced circa 1930s in lovely pink satin or frosted Depression glass she measures about 5 3/4" tall x 4 1/2" across, and is in excellent condition
