Description:
Beautifully handpainted milk glass jar painted in a rose floral design in vibrant shades of brown, golden yellow, red, pink and green. The glass jar is in good condition with no chips or cracks - the top has a roughness on the edge, but not chipped. The paint on the jar is intact and still bright. The embossed lid fits tightly to the jar and is made of metal with a great patina - possibly copper or brass. The embossed design has an art nouveau floral design that may be a hibiscus flower. As you can see from Picture #4, the inside of the lid is a shiny gold color - the outside has a dulled finish with even some green on it. There are three dents in one side of the lid, but they just add to its character. Really a lovely piece!
