Description: A Victorian Figural Silver Plate Letter Seal in the form of a Cherub or Putto. Through the centuries putti have been carved, cast, and painted from early Greek design through the Victorian years. They represent love and romance and it seems hard to resist the small chubby forms that resemble children. So naturally, I found it difficult to resist this letter seal with a bashful cherub or putto. Whether you collect cherubs/putti or seals, it is sure to delight. Though not marked; the seal is of very good quality and detail. It is not monogrammed and you may wish to add your own. Large in size; 4 1/2" and solid weight, 100gr. Condition; good to very good, minor surface scratches
