Description: This Victorian fire screen has an ebonized frame with some gold accenting. The finish is original and in excellent condition. The ornate spindles are delicately turned and subtle reeding throughout. The central panel has had restoration. The painting is on black silk and is of dogwood branches in full bloom. The painting is in very good condition. The silk has some tears, but appears to be stable. The previous owner had saved this original panel and secured it to a stronger fabric. The background fabric is ivory in color and matches the flowers. There is a subtle leaf pattern in the fabric as well. The screen easily pivots to deflect the heat in the desired direction. The condition and styling is wonderful.
