Description: What a rare find! This high style walnut Victorian game table is of superb quality. Notice the dramatic burled walnut on the top, along the table skirt and on all 4 drawer fronts. The checkerboard pattern is inlaid with rosewood and satinwood. Each side has a small hand dovetailed drawer to store gaming items such as cards, poker chips, chess pieces, etc. Check out the delicately carved wooden pulls and matching key escutcheons. All have their original working locks. The stretcher base has a large turned finial in the center supported by curvaceous legs. The legs are highlighted with turned, carved and fluted full columns and acanthus leaf carvings. Check out the realistically carved paw feet with toenails. The table rests on its original porcelain casters. The table is in excellent condition. The finish appears to be an older refinish, which has a most desirable patina and rich color. What a great addition to your home or conversation piece for your office!
