Description: This is part of an antique collection of Scottish jewelry I bought at an estate from NY. ALL the pieces are early to MID 1800's . This one has the carved claw top that represents a buckle. The brooch is REALLY heavy and measures 2 “ across. You see banded agate in Victorian earrings and they sell for hundreds of dollars. This is the largest piece of agate I have seen. This has the old C clasp and is really well made. As you can see on the back it has its original crevices and striations that are original to the stone. The buckle on the front was repaired prior to me owning it.
