Here is a wonderfully made unique antique baby bonnet for your consideration. It is mostly handmade and is truly a treasure even though it is not perfect. It has a felt lining to which is stitched brown glazed fabric characteristic of the late 1800s...perhaps earlier. There is also some red silk around the brim but this is tattered and could be easily removed. The entire front and top of the bonnet is done in tiny pleats of winter white silk. The back is also silk but has problem areas of staining and some tiny tears, especially near the base. I suppose this could be restored if someone was handy with a needle....I will leave that for the buyer to decide. However, on an antique doll, this would look elegant and is very desirable. It measures 16 1/2" around the front of the brim. You don't often find them styled like this beauty...possibly from much earlier time period than I am guessing.
