Description: Measuring 5 1/4" h., 2 1/2" w., this is a very unusal piece of Victorian Amberina. The Sugar Castor is in the thumbprint pattern, with the glass exhibiting a very light shade of pink extending upward to darker tones. The pewter lid has a pierced design in a star motif. The lid appears to be stuck, although there is evidence the previous owner tried to open it - it is definitely secure. This is the only real flaw apparent as there are no cracks or chips. Late 19th c.
