Description: A very good Victorian watch fob seal, the base formed from a faceted carnelian and surmounted by an 18K yellow gold eagle wrestling with a snake. The eagle and serpent have finely detailed with engraved plumage and scales. The eagles’ wings are outspread as he uses one claw to grasp the snake and prepares to attack with his open beak. The carnelian seal was never engraved. Tested and guaranteed 18K gold. Origin: America, ca. 1880. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 1” x 1/2" x 15/16”.
