Description: A fabulous mid Victorian period stickpin, c. 1860. The piece tests 14K gold and is in the form of a fly or some kind of winged insect. The wings are cabochon garnets. There are three old mine cut diamonds making up the body and the eyes are tiny cabochon rubies. The pin tests 14K and there looks like there could be some silver in the bug as well. It measures 5/8" by 3/8" and is in excellent condition.
