Description: A Victorian coral bead bracelet with an absolutely phenomenal 14K gold Etruscan Revival clasp. Each end of the bracelet terminates in carved coral hand grasping a gold handle. Each of the hands is decorated with a gold cuff highlighted with twisted wirework. The gold box clasp is decorated to match and is finished off with a wonderful carved coral horse’s head in very high relief. The coral has the rich coloring only found in Mediterranean coral off the coast of Naples, and the beads and horse head were probably carved by Italian craftsmen and then mounted in England or America. This is, without a doubt, the best Victorian coral bracelet, we’ve seen. Tested and guaranteed 14K gold. Origin: England or America, ca. 1850. Size: 7-7/8” long; clasp, 3/8” x 3/4" x 9/16” deep.
