Description:
A lovely Victoria Porcelain, Carlsbad, King Lear bowl, ca. 1891-1918. The bowl has a square undulating shape with a ribbed rim in pale pink. The interior sides are decorated with two bands of dark red centered with a band of pale green with scroll, floral, and medallion decorations in gold. The interior center has an ivory background outlined with a scroll and medallion decoration in gold. The center decoration depicts the death of King Lear in shades of pale purple, green, white, brown, and blue. The bottom runner has a glazed over 1/2 inch factory flaw flake chip that cannot be seen unless the piece is turned over and felt. Otherwise, the bowl is in excellent condition with no cracks, crazing, or damage. It bears the Victoria stamped oval and eagle logo in blue on the bottom. Shipping quoted upon sale.
