Description: What an amalgum of pieces! I was intrigued the moment I laid eyes on this unusual piece! It is a man's vest watch chain according to size. The swivels on either end are not from the same time frame-one predates the other by quite a few years. the pewter "bird hook" is what really sets this apart from the rest of the pack! It is very nuveau in style, and it a serpent with a bird's head curved to receive the watch bail! The finish on the older swivel that attaches the hook is coming off considerably, but the elongated links of the chain are fairing much better. The swivel on the other end is a much later swivel, probably from the 1930's or a little later even! The ring slides down, and the closing ring hinges open, and closes the same way! Quite ingenious, and very safe! A most unique piece to add to your collection! Aprox. 7 1/2" long. The shipping fees quoted are for first class/No insurance in USA.
