Description: Victorian cut green vaseline glass perfume / scent bottle with chased and engraved silver lid. Made England around 1870-80.
Measures just under 3 inches high.
Round faceted shape with straight sides, similar to an inkwell. Fine sunburst cut under the base, which can be seen through the glass of the side walls. The hinged lid and collar around the neck are silver - certainly look sterling, but no marks to be seen. Very fine chased scrolls and flowers on the lid with engraved monogram. Stopper inside the neck fitting very tightly. Great play of light under normal circumstances, but under UV light, the bottle fluoresces to an amazing bright yellow colour (see last 'photo). Very good condition. No chips/cracks on either bottle or stopper.
