A CLASSIC ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PIANO PERFECT FOR RESTORATION OR AS A FABULOUS DECORATOR PIECE THAT WILL ADD THAT "SPECIAL" TOUCH TO ANY ROOM.

Description: This beautiful parlour piano was manufactured by Collard & Collard in 1870 and originally sold new by A.E. Woodward of 77 High Street, Cheltenham, England in 1871. By the markings on the rear of the case, it appears that the instrument was shipped to Australia in that same year. The case is manufactured in a rich dark walnut accented by a lighter shade of walnut and features a very popular Victorian design of the time. The removable upper case board in front of the strings is somewhat warped and its veneer is in need of some repair. There are two chips of wood missing on each of the legs' upper turnings but neither are readily visible as the missing pieces are located at the rear of the turnings. Also, there are three keys that are partially missing their ivory. Other than the deficiencies we have noted, the case itself is in beautiful condition for its age. Piano tuner's date marks appear on the soundboard with regularity and range from the late 19th century through the first third of the 20th century. While it appears that all internal parts and mechanical workings are intact and the soundboard does not appear to have sustained any damage, please be advised we are not musical instrument or piano specialists. Accordingly we are offering this piece strictly for its' valuable decorative and restoration value.
