Description: A very unusual Mauchline - type wooden pin cushion dating to around 1860. Each side features a different pen-work drawing, one side there is a lady, beneath is written "Wales - In Pursuit Of Science"; the flip side has a gentleman and written beneath him is "A Collector of Fossils".

I am assuming this is an alternative Mauchline Ware souvenir from Wales.

The blue velvet is intact and in very good condition. The drawings are quite feint from age, but the whole piece is in excellent condition. Measures 2.25" in diameter.
