Description: A really very unusual example of an antique English expanding book rack dating to around 1880. The ends are beautifully decorated with foliate scrolls which match the unusual carrying handles found at each side. The bookslide extends to around 16" in length and has a spring incorporated to retract to hug the books perfectly. Excellent professionally polished condition and measuring 12" in length when closed including the handles x 4". Shipping and insurance are included.
