Description: Lovely and unusual green ribbed glass match striker. Original sterling rim is clearly hallmarked Birmingham 1914. A fine example of pieces from the"Art Nouveau" period. As the name suggests, loose matches would be stored inside, and then individually struck across the ribbing on the glass, producing friction, and t by flame.
