Description:
Shelf cuckoo with an unusually heavy fusee 8-day mechanism...running well. There is a fusee time barrel with the spring barrel above. The movement is clean and running well. The bellows have been replaced which gives the cuckoo's call a strong and mellow tone. He 'cooks" at a slow, measured pace that brings a smile to everyone's face when they are in the room on the hours (he also cuckoos once every half/hour). The pendulum 'bob' is of the anchor style and the old wooden cuckoo bird sits on a metal perch and bows with each note of his song. The back cover is a replacement. There are carved attached ornaments over the front of the case and side trim at a 45 degree angle on each edge of the front of the box. Intricate leaf rails on the top complete the great look of this exceptional clock. There is also some black accent trim on the base. Eight-day shelf cuckoo clocks don't come along very often so.....better grab this one while its still available.
