Description:
This fine quality, unusual Viennese compact has a circular pocket watch shaped form. The circular hinged covers are embellished with pale blue guilloche enamel panels displaying concentric circles of wave and diamond patterns. The compact retains the original hallmarked watch style ring attachment, ball finial and push fit catch. colet set with a cabouchon sapphire. Once the catch is depressed, the compact case opens to reveal a circular bevelled mirror fitted to the interior of the upper cover and the flush hinged cover with a colet set cabouchon sapphire push fit catch. This cover protects the hallmarked powder compartment to the interior of the base. This fine quality compact is an extremely good gauge of silver, very good qualtiy and in excellent condition. The enamel panels and bevelled morror are all in perfect condition. Hallmarks struck to the interior of the case, the hinged cover and the ring attachment are all very clear.
