Description: This is a nice clean 1920's era valve spring tool marked "K-D UNIVERSAL K-D MFG. CO. LANCASTER PA. PAT. FEB.10.20" in stamped lettering on the steel. It is 11" long wit a 11/16" wide inside slot, 1-3/4" wide on the outside of the jaws. There is a position lock lever on the top of the handle, and it has about 9 different lock positions, and basically locks in each one as you spread the jaws opened by squeezing the handles together. Push the handle lever toward the jaws to release. No rust, no damage, very little wear. We noted that the jaw inside slot of the lower jaw is slightly more rounded than the upper jaw, more of a close horseshoe shape than a straight slot, not sure why, but looks to be original. A nice one!
