Description:
UNITED STATES WATCH Co. MARION, N.J. KEY WIND/KEY SET I.H. WRIGHT SALESMAN DISPLAY Circa: 1872. Fine and rare early American Watch manufacturer. Famous for it's distinctive butterfly cut-out over the balance. This grade was initially produced after 1872. This was the time of change -- marked by the departure of William Wales and his replacement by George C.F. Wright as the Number Two man. Thus, it is logical to assume that the "I.H. Wright" movement was named after his older brother Henry Wright. It has been recored that I.H. Wright was "Cashier and confidential agent" of the USWC. This watch is cased in the original Salesman display case for easy viewing. Clean, running and especially collectible.

DIAL: White porcelain singule sunken dial free of hairlines marked: "UNITED STATES WATCH Co. Rare dial.
MOVEMENT: 18 size, full plate gilt, Frosted, Lever movement, straight line escapement, hardened and tempered hairsprings, exposed ballet jewels, eleven jewels, sprung over chronometer balance, sunk seconds. Key wind and key set. Excellent plates, free of distraction.
CASE: 18 size, snap back and bezel salesman display case marked: "HAMPDEN WATCH Co." on both side.
