United States Foundation Chairman and coauthor, chronicles what has happened to the S.S. United States since 1982 (the year The Big Ship was published) and also has written the book's introduction. The S.S. United States is the greatest ocean liner this country has ever built, and this book stands as a fitting tribute and celebration of the 50th Anniversary of her maiden voyage. The United States still holds the West bound speed record on the North Atlantic. NOTE: This book is out of print. Limited quantities available – this “may” be our last copy. These books were printed as a Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Maiden Voyage with only 750 total printed. The only copies remaining for sale have the name of the original passenger for which they were printed embossed in silver on the cover. (Apparently said passengers failed to pay for their memorabilia, since these are in fact NEW, direct from the publisher.)
