Description:
A United China and Gift Co. (UCAGCO) Occupied Japan demitasse cup and saucer, ca. 1946-1952. The cup has an ivory exterior with a band of shields and points in gold around the rim. The interior of both the cup and saucer is green with a white center and medallions depicting a rustic scene with a farmhouse and windmill trimmed in gold with gold filigree. Each bears the UCAGCO logo and "Made In Occupied Japan" in gold on the bottom. The saucer is 4 1/2 inches in diameter and the cup measures 1 3/4 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter at the rim. The center well of the saucer has a barely discernible star hairline beneath the glaze. Shipping quoted upon sale.
