Description: Tunbridge Weare Wooden Box. Circa. Mid-nineteenth century. Indeed, some of these Tunbridge Weare boxes date back to the 17th Century. All were made in Kent, England. The box is in wonderful condition, except for missing one raised side panel which closes under the lid. Not noticeable. This box is pictured in the Encyclopedia of Decorative Arts. Definitely tunbridge Weare.
