Description: A truly exceptional Venetian schiavona from the second half of the 18th century. Having the fully developed basket with a brass shield shaped pommel and leather covered grip. It has an exceptionally clean, broad 36.25 Inch double edged blade, struck on either side with a star armourers mark. This sword is extremely scarce example as it retains its original leather covered scabbard with its original chape which extends for more than half the length of the sword. It also has its original hanging straps with a brass buckle. A truly exceptional sword.
