Description:
A brightly colored majolica bowl with one twisted vine handle rising from a short pedestal. Leaves of plum, chartreuse, brown, aqua and yellow form the bowl and there are tropical looking flowers, perhaps hibiscus in the center. Raised details. It appears that this bowl has lost one handle, but it took me a while to realize it as the applied handle left a fairly clean break and seems to be covered by glaze, perhaps a factory accident. There are several small glaze chips, but there is so much detail and color that they don't detract from the over all appearance.
On the bottom are some letters which seem to say Germany and the date 1857.
