Description: Each of these outstanding Limoges plates features a slightly different scene of naturalistic fish and marshland grasses. Echoes of soft green evoke a tranquil stream teaming with large bass and various other fish. The fish are colored in light browns, blues and corals with gold lustre highlights. Each wears double marks from the T&V factory, indicating it was not only made from a T&V blank, but was decorated by T & V as well. The marks depicted are the blue overglaze exporting Mark 1a which was used from the early 1800 up to 1891 and an early red T&V bell decorating mark. Although there are a few minor chips on the rims of 4 of the plates, they are quite inconspicuous due to the complex pattern of the scene. In short, these plates are absolutely stunning! Be sure to see the matching fish platter also available on our site!
