Description:
Offered here is a wonderful piece of Tramp Art in the form of a devotional plaque. In the center is a photo of Peterborough Cathedral in Cambridgeshire, England. This is a Norman cathedral dedicated to Saints Peter, Paul and Andrew. The Plaque measures 13”h x 6 ¾” at its widest point. It is made of scrap wood and cork. All the round and half round decorative elements are cork. A gravel like substance has been applied above and below the photo to resemble stucco. It’s then been painted. It is generally in good shaped. There are some missing elements: at the front of the shelf two of the half circle cork pieces are missing. Two pieces of cork are missing on the right edge above the photo; one piece is missing under the shelf; and a piece is missing at the top point. However, none of these imperfections mar the overall special look of this unusual piece of tramp art folk art. The photo is behind glass and can be removed. There is a small nail above and below the glass, keeping it in place, which can be pulled out.
