We are pleased to offer this lovely tablespoon/serving spoon by Towle in the French Provincial pattern.
This is lovely piece that is in excellent condition with slight polish marks that come with time. This would be a great replacement piece or to add to your existing collection.
The history of Towle Silversmiths is unique. In 1682 William Moulton II (1664-1732) departed his home, a family farm in Hampton, New Hampshire. He traveled to and eventually settled near the Merrimac River near Newbury, Massachusetts. Newbury eventually became known as Newburyport. Several years later in 1690, William attempted silversmithing. He was the first to attempt this in Newbury, and subsequently gained the title of the first silversmith in a long lineage of craftsmen. Six consecutive generations of Moulton silversmiths followed. Towle Silversmiths represents centuries of silversmithing without interruption on the banks of the Merrimac River in Newburyport.
The Towle tradition of quality and craftsmanship is still being carried on to this day. Towle flatware is a company whose history spans a time period longer than that of the United States. Today, Towle Silversmiths remains a leader in the silver industry.
