Description: This small tortoiseshell snuff box is trimmed with a silver cartouche with the initials "MP" engraved in the script of the day. Just 1 7/8" x 1", it is lined with red velvet inside the lid and metallic paper inside the base. The box lid is loose on the hinges and there is a split in the tortoiseshell panel in the back. There is some tortoiseshell chipped off the back right corner. However, these do not detract from the beauty or function of the piece.
