Description: This funny looking thing is a vintage English brass toast fork or toasting fork from the 1890-1920 that I brought home recently from England. The toast fork kitchen gadget features a 3 dimensional finial of a pixie called the Lincoln Imp. It was used (as it's name implies) to toast bread (or crumpets) before the open flame of a fire or even an the bar of an electric fire. They are really quite nostalgic as well as ornamental. I suppose it would work with your fireplace!
