A Rare Limited Edition Book.” The Tipplers Vow”1901 by Lee Fairchild with twenty six original dry-point etchings by Jean Paleologue.A large Imperial Folio Edition printed on French Fold Watermarked Paper. The watermarking is for Crosscut & Sterling in a sheild.The etchings are awesome & most are initialed PAL. This is a Holland Paper Edition printed from type & is limited to 750 numbered & registered copies, this copy is is #248.The cover is three quarter calf leather ,with gold title stamping on spine. The exterior is very plaine,yet handsome. The top pages are uncut & I don’t believe that this book has ever been read!. The etchings are amazing & some are colored .The book id just full of quotes about wine, this would be the greatest gift to give to a wine enthusiast.
“Wine makes a man, his fancy for the fact, Believe he owns the earth, his wealth intact: Here beggar, take another sip and be, for one brief hour a millionaire with me“. Each quote has the pictorial etching. The condition is good, tight binding, but there is quite a bit of page yellowing .Measuring 12 5/8” x 9 ˝” x 1”.
