Description: Civil War ninth-plate tintype of Frederick Renschler of the 191st Pennsylvania Infantry. Renschler is photographed from the neck up, and is in full uniform. Comes in a rare thermoplastic Gutta Percha case with a slight chip at the clasp. The tintype is in very good condition. A great photo in fully functional case. Renschler's laminated discharge slip included. Document dated 12 June 1865 and reveals Renschler was, ""Discharged at Annapolis, Maryland by reason of General orders no. 11 war dept. A.G.O."" Official stamp imprinted on Discharge document reads, ""Maj. N. Vedder Paid in Full."" Document measures 8.5"" x 11"". Typed on verso, ""Oath of Identity."" Some light foxing on front and reverse of document. Both items in very good condition.
