Description: Exceptional chest of drawers, c1850 cherry & curly or tiger maple. Drawers are solid maple not veneer, a substantial piece of furniture here. Replaced hardware which can be changed to proper horton or ball & ball brasses. Chest has original backsplash, very unusual full post/carved feet. A large country empire chest from the northeast, 50"h, 44" w and 22"d. Panelled cherry sides, solid cherry top, backsplash is mahogany banded with birdseye maple panel. This is quite a showy chest, old clean finish which could be french polished for addtional fee. Smaller top drawers rest on fluted and spiral twisted posts over pineapple carved feet.
