Outstanding five piece Tiffany enamel sterling and glass vanity items, by Tiffany & Co. All pieces marked “Sterling Hand Wrought Tiffany & Co”. Beautiful mint green Gouache Enameling that is framed with white enameling & sterling silver. Set consists of: 11 ½” hand mirror monogrammed “PEW” (Woolworth); has some little chips off the white outline enamel & the mirror surface has some scratches 6 ½” x 1 ½” brush; 5 ¾” x 1 ½” brush; square covered glass box and 5 ½” square cut perfume bottle with glass full length, heavy dabber-perfume bottle has some very minor flea bites on the base. The brushes haven some chipping to where bristles meet board. Overall it is one heck of a set & completely beautiful
I was very excited about acquiring a good amount of antiques from the Woolworth Family and I’m happy to present them to you. Here is a little history of the Woolworth Family: During the late 19th and early 20th Century the Woolworth Department Stores were one of the most famous names in department stores both here and in Europe. Everyone growing up remembers the Woolworth Five & Dime store in their town. In the early 20th century, one branch of the Woolworth family came to Maine and acquired hundreds of acres of land on beautiful Cobbossee Lake in Monmouth, Maine. Over the years, the compound has grown to approximately twenty-six buildings, some of which were filled with antiques collected all over the world and with a discerning eye.
