Description:
This is a lovely sterling silver dish by Tiffany & Co. in that combines modern styling with classic decoration. This square dish or tray has flared sides with a plain triple-banded border. The sides are decorated with wonderful pierced decoration of stylized scrolls or arches and bellflowers in bands that combine Gothic Revival and neoclassical patterns. Like all of Tiffany's work this bowl is heavy gauge silver and has been expertly crafted. This small tray or dish measures approx. 9" square, and weighs approx. 12.5 troy ounces. It is marked under the base with the mark of Tiffany & Co., the words Makers, Sterling Silver, pattern number 18201A, order number 5456, and the letter M for John C. Moore, Tiffany's president from 1907-1947. This handsome antique silver dish is perfectly proportioned and could be used as a serving piece or decorative accessory. A great design that is also extremely versatile.
