Description:
This is lovely sterling silver compote by Tiffany & Co. in a sweet Edwardian design. Standing on a spreading pedestal base this small compote has elegant pierced and engraved decoration framing the perimeter of the bowl of pierced hearts and lattice-like designs with scrolls and flowers. The bowl and base are both trimmed with a pointed scroll and shell border. Like all of Tiffany's work this bowl is heavy gauge silver and has been expertly crafted. This compote measures approx. 3" high and 8" in diameter, and weighs approx. 11.5 troy ounces. It is marked under the base with the mark of Tiffany & Co., the words Makers, Sterling Silver, pattern number 13964F, order number 6750, and the letter M for John C. Moore, Tiffany's president from 1907-1947. This beautiful antique silver compote is perfectly proportioned; its small size makes it exceptionally versatile and a charming addition to any table setting. A wonderful gift to suit any taste!
