Welcome! We have for sale an early to mid-20th century theorem painting on cream velvet of a wood thrush bird against a background of ferns and violets, signed "Spear" just beneath the bird's tail feathers. It is set under glass in an oak frame measuring 9 1/4 inches wide by 11 1/8 inches long. On the back is brown paper and a newer sawtooth hook, with a type-written legend about theorem painting and its 20th century revival. Underneath that is written "Wood Thrush" on the paper backing. There is a small nail or tack or something that can be heard rolling around when the picture is moved back and forth, but I have not take the picture apart to see what it is. Other than that, this theorem painting is in very good condition with a charming image. Buy it now!
