Description: The Terry Clock Company was located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Waterbury and Winsted, Connecticut. It was organized by the sons of Silas B. Terry and later sold to Russel and Jones. This was their "HIGHLAND" model, made in Pittsfield, which featured lots of cut-outs in the solid Walnut case and deep grooves all around. The dial paper has been renewed. A clean, 8-day movement is running perfectly and includes a working alarm mechanism. On the dial pan is a Patent date of Nov. 10, 1879. There are two labels on the clock...one with a red background on the floor inside the case- about 90% intact,(see photograph) and another on the back (about 75% intact). The fancy brass and nickle pendulum 'bob' is one of Terry's signature designs. A curtain pattern door glass adds to the overall impact of this classy and elaborate clock. The back of the case is stamped with Terry's factory mark "N96117". This is another hard-to-find clock by one America's pioneer clockmaking families.
