One of the many books from the Estate of Francis P. Fretwell that we will be selling. The library is the largest privately owned collection of dog books in the world. Mr. Fretwell was the owner of Monfret Kennels, which bred champion standard poodles. He was former president and governor of the Poodle Club of America, and the Italian Greyhound Club of America. He also served as a delegate to the American Kennel Club for decades. His wonderful collection of books has been carefully maintained. *** Ten Thousand Miles on a Bicycle. By Karl Kron. Detailed Table of Contents (12p); General Index (13p.); Index of Places (30p.), Index of Persons (19p.); Addenda et Corrigenda (23p); alphabetical list of the 3,000 subscribers and geographic directory of wheelmen, accompanied by a threat of a sequel (!), all in fine print. Tips bumped and lightly rubbed, light rubbing to extreme head and tail of spine, prior owner's bookplate on front fixed endpaper, which also has some erasure marks.
