Description:
These are a very rare and collectable set of spoons. They are called the City Set. The spoons were made by Romney Bros. in Sheffield England in 1958. Each spoon is hallmarked by a different city. There are 6 city Assay Offices in Great Britain, they are London, Sheffield, Chester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edingburgh. ( Chester closed in 1962 ) Each spoon has a different city Assay mark ( hallmark ) but the same date year 1958. It is a wonderfull example of the unique British hallmarking system! The quality and condition of the spoons are excellant and the box is in very good condition. The spoons have a heavy guage and weigh 75 gramms.
The spoons measure the following: Length: 4.25 ins. ~ 11 cm.
