Description:
This is an antique swivel tea strainer with an ebony handle used for pouring out a dripless cup of tea. The swivel handled tea strainer consists of silver plate strainer bowl with an ebony wood handle attached by a swivel to a silver plate under bowl and was made by N B Company, England from 1900-1920. You turned the handle to pour tea from the pot into the cup and catch the tea leaves then swiveled it back to rest over the under bowl to catch drips. A great piece. The swiveling tea strainer measures 1.5 inches high by 5.5 inches long by 2 inches in diameter. The combination tea strainer and drip catcher is in very good +++ condition with some very minor corrosion spots on the bottom bowl. A great piece and extremely hard to find.
