Description:
Exceptional quality PRESSED glass Victorian Biscuit Barrel that features an intricate diamond & fan pattern at the top of the Biscuit Barrel. This is probably one of five pressed glass Biscuit Barrels we have had in 30 years (that we deemed worthy to represent)... The lower half features graduated "ribs" that taper into a pedestal base. The lid (attractively engraved with leaves), rim & handle are all silver plate. Biscuit Barrels were designed to house the biscuit/crackers that were served with the cheese course during high tea. Today they make an elegant display in a grouping or to hold your various collections - from jelly beans to Christmas ornaments. Or even use it as an ice bucket!
