Description:
Stuart Ring Circa. 1733 British. One of the finest, most impressive pieces of jewelry that we have ever seen. This ring has it all. Firstly, the age. Secondly, the craftsmanship. Third: the condition. 18K yellow gold tested with 18K acid. Silver backings. 2 rose diamonds on either side of rock crystal stone. Diamonds tested with a diamond tester. There is an inscribed skull under the rock crystal, which was typical of Memorial Rings from the 17th Century. Piecrust back. Back of shank reads: "Johes Francklin OB'8 Feb 1733 A'e 62. This means the gentleman who died in 1733 was 62 years old. Thus, he was born 1671. The ring is completely original, has had no repairs and is in pristine condition. Can only be sized down, so not to tamper with the priceless shank. In pristine condition. Size 7 1/4. 3.6 gr. 2.3 dwt. 3/16 inch wide.
